Teodora Georgieva earned a Drama degree from the Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts, and Pedagogy of mass and artistic communication from Sofia University. She’s the author of puppet and drama plays that have been performed at the Nikolay Binev Youth Theatre, Sfumato, the puppet theatres in Pazardzhik, Yambol, Sliven. In 2023 the author’s play Intermediate Zone was nominated for an Askeer award in the category Contemporary Bulgarian drama.

Synopsis: The play follows three boys searching for themselves in a world of distorted values and absent moral reference points. They create a small world modelled on the larger one, in which power and aggression form the ethical code, and enter a dangerous game that seems to promise confidence and immortality. The work examines the struggle between constructive forces – love, respect, compassion and responsibility – and destructive forces shaped by fear, guilt, shame and violence.
MEDUSA relevance: The play examines the formation of identity within patriarchal structures where violence becomes a language and a moral system. Its focus on youth, belonging, personal responsibility and the possibility of overcoming destructive models through care and forgiveness has clear relevance across European societies.
