The EURODRAM BG Foundation was established in 2023 by the coordinators of the Bulgarian Committee of the EURODRAM international network for dramaturgy and translation. The organisation works for the development, popularisation and dissemination of contemporary dramaturgy in Bulgaria and for the active exchange between authors, translators and the European theatre scene. Its activities started in 2005 as an unofficial collective, after some interruption of activities since 2014, it has resumed its activities in partnership with the association “36 Monkeys” and EURODRAM network. Every year the foundation organizes a selection of contemporary dramaturgical texts, which are presented in the form of a performance-reading on the ProText platform.
The mission of EURODRAM BG is to disseminate contemporary dramaturgy (Bulgarian and translated), to promote the diverse development of contemporary dramatic art in Bulgaria, to present innovative theatrical practices, to support young artists and to activate cultural dialogue at regional, national and international level.
Eurodram BG, the Bulgarian committee of the European network Eurodram for the promotion and translation of contemporary playwriting, will offer its expansive transnational reach, connecting the project to a wide circle of translators, authors, and theatre professionals active across its 28 language committees and will contribute its selection criteria, archives, and critical expertise to support the evaluation and translation of contemporary texts. This will support both the visibility of the selected texts and the broader circulation of new voices in European theatre (WP3).
Meet the people
Silvia Petrova
Silvia Petrova is a journalist, theatre producer and cultural manager. She studied media and theater studies at the universities of Bonn and Cologne, Germany. She has worked at a number of German state theaters, including those in Cologne, Osnabrück, Bonn, Hamburg, and Hanover, as well as on numerous independent theater productions.

She served as production manager at Studio Я at the Maxim Gorky Theater in Berlin and co-founded the international feminist film festival Female Freedom Film Festival, with a focus on Ukraine. She publishes articles on theater in specialized publications in Bulgaria and is a member of the Bulgarian committee of the EURODRAM networ
